How to use this disc

The photos on this disc are presented in JPG format displayed using familiar html webpages.

After selecting a letter you will be presented with surnames beginning with that letter.
Then select a surname and you will see thumbnail images of the headstones.
Next click on the thumbnail of a headstone you would like to view and it will display a scaled-image.

If you want more detail, click the image again and it will display the full original image.

IMPORTANT NOTE: By default Internet Explorer will auto-resize images to fit within your browser and  not provide the additional detail.
To get the full detail, move your mouse over the image until the image toolbar displays. Then click the icon in the lower-right corner of the image.

To configure Internet Explorer to not auto-resize images, in Internet Explorer do the following:
a. Click Tools...Internet Options.
b. Click the Advanced tab.
c. Scroll down to Mulitmedia.
d. Uncheck the box for "Enable Automatic Image Resizing".
e. Click OK.

If you need the image to be a certain size then use your graphics program to resize the original image to the size needed. Be sure to use the original image to retain the greatest detail and quality.

.
*-Note: On Linux the main menu application will not run as it requires Internet Explorer. Linux users will need to access the cdrom and launch the file INDEX.HTM found in the HEADSTONES folder.

Are you violating or infringing on any copyright laws?
No, there are no copyright laws violated with this product. This is no different than taking a photo of something and selling it to a newspaper or magazine or transcribing headstones and putting it into a book for sale.

How can I obtain headstone photos of a certain cemetery?
We are currently working on cemeteries in and around the Mecklenburg County area of Virginia. However if there is a cemetery which you are interested in, please visit our website for more information.

Why do I have to purchase a disc(s) of all the headstones in a cemetery?
This project started as a hobby and to help others not from this area to obtain headstone photos for their genealogy efforts. We found it to be more beneficial to just photograph the entire cemetery which no longer meant frequent trips to the cemetery. In order to continue this project and to cover costs and expenses this business model was selected as being the best fit. As our business evolves we may be able to offer different or additional models in the future. Please refer to our website for more information as we move forward.

Why do you charge so much for a DVD of headstone photos?
We feel that we are charging a reasonable fee for the product. Please take into account the time, effort, and expense of producing a product of this type. We feel that once you start your virtual tours through our cemetery discs you will agree.

How may I use these Photos? Can I print out the photos I need?
You may use these photos for your own personal use within reason. You may print out as many copies as you like. You may email them to others, but please do not email all or any other huge number of the photos. Rule of thumb: If you need to email more than 5-10 photos to any one person, then they should purchase their own disc. You may copy them to your hard disk and edit, resize, crop etc. them to meet your needs and you may use them in any software program you wish too.

Can I make copies of the disc?
Yes, you are entitled to make 1 copy of the disc for backup purposes only.

What should I do if I see an error?
We have made every effort to check for typos, incorrect information, and other errors. However in the event you find something that you know not to be correct and can provide verification then please contact us via the information above.
